Jennie Garth has piped up about her fellow “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Helio Castroneves, saying that Castroneves broke up with his fiancee months ago, not recently has tabloids have reported.

On Wednesday, Castroneves confirmed that he and long time girl friend of six years, Aliette Vazquez, had called it quits. News of the break-up came just one day after he and his professional dance partner on the show, Julianne Hough, were declared the winners of “Dancing with the Stars.”

Garth told Inside Edition:

“Well, actually, that is something that happened a long time ago. It was even something that started before the show premiered. It’s not true – the rumor that he just broke it off and it’s because of Julianne.”

Garth also revealed there was no hanky-panky going on Castroneves and Hough: 

“There was no romance going on between Helio and Julianne whatsoever.  For everyone to say that now makes me laugh.”
