Race-car driver Helio Castroneves and his partner have been declared the winners of the fifth season of  ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.” The duo earned a perfect score for their last performance - a dazzling quick step - on Tuesday night’s finale.

Before the final results were announced Castroneves said the experience would have been worth it even if he didn’t win:

“I’ve been through so much pain and so much work, but I have to say, I would do it all over again without even thinking.”

Castroneves and partner Julianne Hough ultimately beat out fellow competitors Spice Girl Melanie Brown and her partner,  Maksim Chmerkovskiy, for the honor.  Singer Marie Osmond and her partner, Jonathan Roberts, came in third

Upon learning he and his partner won the coveted mirror ball trophy, Castroneves said:

“This is an incredible moment right now.”
