Top 10 Hollywood Meltdowns

000256.JPG

It’s one thing to make the list of the ”Super Beautiful” and yet quite another to make the list of ”Top 10 Hollywood Meltdowns of 2007.”  That said, who now can say she’s had the honor of being tops in both? Why, it’s our Miss Brit – who else?!

Britney had some stiff competition this year, and even managed to beat out Owen Wilson for the coveted spot, but with her no panties philosophy, shaving her head, a couple of weeks in rehab, a forgettable performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, and a divorce from Kevin Federline, not to mention that ongoing custody battle over the kids, there’s nobody who came close this year – but Wilson did come in at the number two spot for his suicide attempt in August.

That said, I give you the Top 10 Hollywood Meltdowns of 2007, as compiled by Us Weekly:

1. Britney Spears
2. Owen Wilson
3. Paris Hilton
4. Lindsay Lohan
5. Amy Winehouse
6. Cameron Diaz
7. Rosie O’Donnell
8. Ellen DeGeneres
9. Alec Baldwin
10. David Hasselhoff

Jessica Sierra has been ordered to remain behind bars after she entered a not guilty plea on Thursday for violating her probation when she was arrested outside a Florida bar.  Sierra will remain locked up until her next court hearing, scheduled for December 20th.

The 22-year-old former American Idol contender was arrested in the wee hours on Saturday morning by Tampa Police who said Sierra was kicked out of the Full Moon Saloon, and then became combative outside.  Police records indicate Sierra was drunk and had verbal and physical altercations with other patrons, hit two police officers and tried to escape when she was taken into custody. She has also been accused of being verbally abusive to police, who say the singer offered them sexual favors in exchange for her freedom.

Sierra was previously sentenced to 12 months probation after she a no contest plea in November to possession of cocaine and felony battery for hitting a man with a glass at Hyde Park Cafe in April.

Akon has pleaded not guiltyin a New York court, to endangering the welfare of a minor and harassment. The charges stem from an incident earlier this year when Akon allegedly picked up a teenage fan and did some fan-tossing from center stage into a crowd during a concert.

The hip-hop artist was released on his own recognizance following a brief court appearance on Monday and was told he does not have to be present at future court sessions because his lawyer can stand in for him.  Akon’s attorney, Benjamin Brafman, said in a written statement:

“It was never Akon’s intention to violate the law. This unfortunate incident was a spontaneous reaction during a live concert that Akon deeply regrets.”

Akon’s next court date is set for January.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Jan Adams canceled his appearance on CNN’s “Larry King Live” Tuesday at the request of the family of the late Donda West.  Recent reports say that Adams, the doctor who performed cosmetic surgery on Kanye West’s mother shortly before she died earlier this month, was previously sued for malpractice and was arrested for drunken driving.

Authorities in Los Angeles are currently investigating the death of Donda West, who died of complications from the surgery and who was buried Tuesday - the same day Adams was scheduled to be interviewed by King.  Adams appeared after the first commercial break and told King he had made the decision not to be interviewed on the show.

Before removing his earpiece and walking off the show, Adams told King:

“I had come here to talk about things in the press that aren’t accurate about me. But I have a tremendous amount of love and respect for the West family and they’ve asked me not to go on.”

The show abruptly went into commercial.

Alan Tenenbaum, Adams’ attorney, later said his client had received a letter from attorneys who represent the West family, asking him not to appear on the show.

Woman Refuses To Accept Chapman’s Apology

tinab | Celebrity, Scandal, Television | Tuesday, 06 November 2007

Monique Shinnery, the woman at the center of the Duane “Dog” Chapman racist remark,  has refused to accept Chapman’s apology because it was issued through his attorney.

Chapman was caught on tape calling Shinnery, who is his son Tucker’s African-American girlfriend, the N-word. According to Chapman’s attorney, Brook Hart, Tucker Chapman sold the tape to the National Enquirer.  Since the details of the tape became public, A&E previously suspended ”Dog the Bounty Hunter” from its schedule pending an investigation, however in a new statement released by A&E, the network has removed the program for an undetermined length of time:

“In evaluating the circumstances of the last few days, A&E has decided to take Dog The Bounty Hunter off the network’s schedule for the foreseeable future. We hope that Mr. Chapman continues the healing process that he has begun.”

In an interview with KITV in Honolulu, Shinnery said she believes the elder Chapman’s apology to be “pathetic”:

“I think Duane’s apology was pathetic because it was not directed toward us. He didn’t personally call Tucker or me to apologize. His attorney, Brook Hart, did. So, I personally don’t accept it.”
