Top 10 Hollywood Meltdowns

000256.JPG

It’s one thing to make the list of the ”Super Beautiful” and yet quite another to make the list of ”Top 10 Hollywood Meltdowns of 2007.”  That said, who now can say she’s had the honor of being tops in both? Why, it’s our Miss Brit - who else?!

Britney had some stiff competition this year, and even managed to beat out Owen Wilson for the coveted spot, but with her no panties philosophy, shaving her head, a couple of weeks in rehab, a forgettable performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, and a divorce from Kevin Federline, not to mention that ongoing custody battle over the kids, there’s nobody who came close this year - but Wilson did come in at the number two spot for his suicide attempt in August.

That said, I give you the Top 10 Hollywood Meltdowns of 2007, as compiled by Us Weekly:

1. Britney Spears
2. Owen Wilson
3. Paris Hilton
4. Lindsay Lohan
5. Amy Winehouse
6. Cameron Diaz
7. Rosie O’Donnell
8. Ellen DeGeneres
9. Alec Baldwin
10. David Hasselhoff

Swank Covers W Magazine

tinab | Magazines | Wednesday, 12 December 2007

hilaryswankcover2_2.jpg

Hilary Swank is on the cover and between the pages of the January issue of W Magazine looking fierce!  She spills on being in love, her movie busts and taking 45 supplements each day:

On Love With Boyfriend John Campisis

“Of course I’m in love. Or I wouldn’t be in this relationship for as long as I’ve been. He’s a great guy.”

On the 45 Supplements She Takes Each Day (in addition to her vitamin injections)

“This is my Aloe C, which I dissolve in water. Here’s my flax. This one’s for my immune system, and this one is my BrainWave—it’s great, like if I have a lot of lines to memorize. I just took my most important ones, which are my Oz Garcia Longevity Pak. I shoved them in my mouth right before I met you, which I actually shouldn’t do, because I choked on my vitamins once before.”

On Her Box Office Busts:

“It’s the business of a lottery, for lack of a better word. All you have control over is how hard you choose to work.  After that, you do your press, and then you let it go. Of course you want something you’ve given birth to to do well. But why sit there and lament over what you don’t have control over?”

Victoria Beckham Covers Elle

tinab | Celebrity, Magazines, Victoria Beckham | Thursday, 06 December 2007

elle_jan_08_cover-300.jpg

As thin as a fashion sketch, Victoria Beckham, is a vision of carefully considered perfection on the cover of January’s issue of Elle, which hits the streets on December 11th.

With impeccable makeup, glowing bob, tawny skin, French manicured acrylic nails on her fingers and white teeth that twinkle like Disney stars, she told the magazine:

“I’m not one to stand on a red carpet and give a big, huge grin.”

She says she prefers to keep it cool and collected, although these days it’s hard to believe that she was once a loner who had no friends and kept to herself in school:

“They were literally picking things up out of the puddles and throwing them at me. And I just stood there, on my own. No one was with me. I didn’t have any friends. People would push me around, say they were going to beat me up after school, chase me. It was miserable, my whole schooling, miserable. I tried to be friends with people, but I didn’t fit in. So I kept myself to myself.”

Jack Nicholson Talks Women, Religion and Splitting with Anjelica Huston

tinab | Celebrity, Jack Nicholson, Magazines | Thursday, 06 December 2007

jack_cover300.jpg

Jack Nicholson appears in this Sunday’s issue of Parade Magazine and his success and ageless charm may explain why young women still desire his company.

He admits, on most mornings he wakes up alone. “I’m such a wag!” he says, winking. “I’m a scamp. I don’t deny it. I like myself.” And he loves women. “I grew up in a beauty parlor my family ran, so I’m used to getting along with ladies. I prefer their company, for the most part. I was pampered from the very beginning.”

His Take on Women: “These issues between men and women are not psychological. Look, remember what a gland is. Most of these are glandular issues. A gland is what allows that mother to lift that truck off a child. Whatever intelligent design is, it’s not going to leave the continuation of the human species up to fashion-crazy, flitting mentalities. It’s in those glands. The infatuation cycle of 18 months hasn’t changed a lot since the monkeys. Look at the numbers. Eighteen months is nine months doubled. A woman’s entire system is set so that when you’re having that procreative act with a woman, you’re dealing with a being whose actual cycle is nine months. It doesn’t have to do with her brain. It has to do with her entire bodily system, which is there to overcome the brain. We don’t legislate this stuff. We don’t out-think it. You cannot change these fundamental things that we are as human beings–but you can adjust to it.”

Kevin Federline Covers DETAILS “Dad of the Year”

tinab | Celebrity, Kevin Federline, Lists, Magazines | Wednesday, 28 November 2007

details_dec_07_cover300.jpg

Here’s one for the record books: Kevin Federline has been given a huge ego boost by being named the seventh most influntial guy under 45 in DETAILS newest Power 50 list

I know - I was shocked, too - especially since he shares the honor with Anna Nicole Smith’s ex, Larry Birkhead.  These two probably have more in common than they realize and not just coming in at #7, either.  Afterall, they’ve both been with blonde trainwrecks.

According to DETAILS:

“By being more visible presences in their children’s lives than many Hollywood A-listers, they emerged as unlikely candidates for Dad of Year.”

Other notables - both good and bad - are Zac Efron, Perez Hilton, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, Andrew Giuliani, Seth Rogen, Shia LaBoeuf and Jay-Z.

Tom Cruise Threatens Legal Action Over Fat Suit Photos

tinab | Films, Magazines, Tom Cruise | Tuesday, 20 November 2007

tom_cruise_2.jpg

Attorney’s for Tom Cruise have threatened to take legal action against magazines that run unflattering pictures of him which have been taken on the set of his new film, “Tropic Thunder.” The photos, which feature Tiny Tom in a fat suit, were snapped on the set of Ben Stiller’s new movie and shopped around to various magazines last week.  Stranger yet is the fact that Cruise isn’t even listed among the film’s cast members over at Internet Movie Database.  Just what’s up with that?  Is the fact that he’s in the film supposed to be some big secret?

Anyway, INF, who it seems is the original source for the portly pics, has since sent the following letter to the publications, in which the photo agency states:

The pictures, which were shot by an INF staff photographer, show Cruise in a fat suit and chest wig on the set of ‘Tropic Thunder.’ … While these pictures were taken without breaking any criminal or civil laws, we have decided to pull them from circulation effective immediately.

A magazine editor told Courtney Hazlett, who writes for MSNBC’s The Scoop, that the last few days have been less than normal:

“It was crazy. We had at least four calls from publicists and two legal letters on Friday. All they did was draw more attention to the picture.”

While some say the reason for the chaos surrounding the pictures is that Cruise’s camp doesn’t want him to be seen looking fat and bald, another theory is that Tom wants his cameo in the film to remain a surprise.

At the risk of being sued, I’ll refrain from posting the photos here, but if you haven’t seen at least one and are inclined to do so, you can check it out over at Holy Candy .
