Is it really any surprise that Lynne Spears sees daughters Britney and Jamie Lynn as a piggybank? I recall reading reports of her pushing Britney into fame years ago, telling her how to act (i.e., seductively) and so on, and how this started causing strife.

It’s nothing new, and Lynne Spears is not the first parent to do this sort of thing - nor will she be the last. However, this seems to happen more to girls in entertainment and boys in sports. Tennis, hockey and even golf are often full of kids who got pushed by parents. Tiger Woods appeared on Mike Douglas’ talkshow when he was a cute little pipsqueak of three (if I recall correctly). He was already playing golf. Wane Gretzky’s father pushed him in hockey - though I believe Gretzky enjoyed.

The question is, what can you do to prevent more popwrecks like Britney Spears? Really very little, unless you have much influence over the parent who is pushing - it almost always is just one parent, who denied their own fame feels they have to push the kid.

If Lynne Spears is such a great mom like Dr. Phil claims, would Britney Spears be on the verge of suicide? Maybe. But now we have Jamie Lynn Spears, pregnant at 16 - possibly by a much older executive - and thrust into a limelight that she didn’t want. Maybe she, like many young girls who get pregnant do, was hoping this man could rescue her away from home.

My feeling is that parents should not manage their kids fame, beyond being there for them and encouraging them. But it’s not like we can or even want to legislate this.

Of course, maybe Lynne Spears is realizing that she can’t bank on her daughters anymore and so she’s planning to go ahead on finishing her parenting book, of all things. Hmm. I’m thinking maybe she’d better start saving her money.

Good thing there’s such a thing as DNA testing, I guess, because new tabloid reports indicate that Casey Aldridge is not the father of Jamie Lynn Spears baby-to-be. Jamie Lynn Spears, who only recently announced her pregancy, is the 16-year old sister of popwreckage Britney Spears. Eighteen-year old Aldridge has been Jamie Lynn’s boyfriend for a couple of years, though other reports have her dating young rapper Lil’ Romeo.

Problem is, the father of Spears’ baby-to-be is reportedly an older executive that has something to do with her kids’ show Zoey 101. If this is true, maybe that’s why her show hasn’t been cancelled yet? Though that means this guy would definitely face statutory rape charges.

Does Dr. Phil still want to refer to mom Lynne Spears as a great mom?

Britney Spears‘ baby Sister Jamie Lynn is only 16 years old but possibly following her big sister’s lead. Casey Aldridge, her boyfriend of two years has apparently impregnated her. (And it’s possibly a planned pregnancy.) Jamie Lynn is overjoyed with the bun in her oven, but mom Lynne Spears - who the media long ago portrayed as relentlessly pushing Britney into stardom - had her plans for writing a parenting book put on hold. Lucky for the lad, the Spears like Casey Aldridge, the dad Jamie is furious about the pregnancy.

Of course, to encourage this kind of hillbilly behavior, OK! Weekly magazine is offering Jamie Lynn a cool million to get exclusive rights to her baby’s pictures when the time comes. Let’s hope that Jamie Lynn doesn’t smoke while pregnant like Lily Allen appears to be. (We don’t need more “role models” like Britney Spears.)

At least Aldridge waited until Jamie Lynn was legal. Right? The bun is supposedly 12 weeks along but possibly more. Anyone want to take bets on how long before she has a 2nd and 3rd child? By another man? Or boy, in this case.

Oh by the way, the National Enquirer reported back on July 28th about this pregnancy and were threatened with legal action about this “baseless rumor”. Maybe when the courts actually get their hands on Britney, they can force her to do a PSA (Public Service Announcement) of the value of using condoms.
