Jessica Sierra Gets Tossed

tinab | Arrest, Celebrity, Events | Tuesday, 11 December 2007

Former American Idol wannabe, Jessica Sierra, has been booted from a lineup which included a performance at a musical event honoring U.S. troops in Washington on Friday after news broke that she just can’t seem to stay out of trouble.

E! News reports that the 22-year-old, who is still being held at a jail in Tampa, Florida until her next hearing on December 20th, after allegedly going on a drunken rampage at a nightclub earlier this month, has been uninvited to the event.

Retired Air Force Lt. Col. Buzz Patterson said in a statement:

“While we appreciate Ms. Sierra’s past efforts to support U.S. troops, including performing for them in Iraq on Independence Day, it is quite obvious Ms. Sierra needs to devote a great deal of time to putting her life back together.”

It’s not like she could have attended the event anyway because she’s obviously locked up until at least the 20th, so I wouldn’t go as far as to say Sierra was actually “uninvited” - more like she just has “other commitments.”  Isn’t that what most good attorney’s and PR people say?

I don’t think it matters much though really, in the grand scheme of things, anyway - because Jessica will be back - at least on video since rumors are flying that there’s a smarmy sex-tape in our midst.  Besides, she’s also got that new VH-1 reality show, “Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew,” next year.

Trust me, Sierra wont wont be going away any time soon.

Natalie Maines Rallies Support for ‘West Memphis 3′

tinab | Arrest, Celebrity, Country Music | Wednesday, 05 December 2007

nm.jpg

“Dixie Chick”  lead singer, Natalie Maines, is rallying support for three young men she believes were wrongly convicted of killing three 8-year-old boys back in 1993.

Maines says she wants to raise awareness and fuds to help Jason Baldwin, Damien Echols and Jesse Misskelley, who were convicted when they were teens of murdering three little boys in West Memphis, Arkansas.

Maines has written on the official Dixie Chick’s website

“I encourage everyone to see the documentaries ‘Paradise Lost’ and ‘Paradise Lost 2′ for the whole history of the case. I only discovered the films about six months ago, and when I finished ‘Paradise Lost 2,’ I immediately got online to make sure that these three wrongly convicted boys had been set free since the films were released. My heart sank when I learned that the boys were now men and were still in prison.

I searched for answers as to what had been done and what was being done to correct this injustice. I donated to the defense fund and received a letter from Damien Echols wife, Lorri. She is a lovely woman who has dedicated her time and heart to her husband. I was glad to hear that after so many years of fighting for justice it looked like things were finally happening. Below, I have written what the DNA and forensics evidence shows. I hope after reading it and looking at the WM3.org website, you will know that the wrong guys are sitting in jail right now, and feel compelled to help.”

Jason Baldwin and Jesse Misskelley received life sentences without parole, and Damien Echols sits on death row.

Katie Cassidy Popped For Underage Drinking

tinab | Arrest | Friday, 16 November 2007

katie_cassidy_2.jpg

Actress Katie Cassidy, who is the 20-year-old daughter of former teen idol David Cassidy, was arrested about two weeks ago in Tucson, Arizona for underage drinking.

The Smoking Gun reported that when the “Supernatural” star was arrested, she told police she was someone else - it seems she didn’t want anyone to know that she’s an actress and also Cassidy’s daughter - out of fear that news of her arrest would be a prime target for tabloid fodder.

So, she gave a fake name to the cops - Taylor Quinn Cole - who by the way, is a 23-year-old actress who has had guest spots on “Supernatural” and “Summerland.”

Nothing like jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire, eh?

Records show Cassidy was arrested October 30th after the driver of the car she was riding in was pulled over for moving violations and police thought Cassidy appeared intoxicated.

Cassidy gave police the false identity, but eventually broke down and told them the truth when she couldn’t match up her age with her birth year. She finally allegedly acknowledged she drank wine and cranberry juice and vodka cocktails earlier in the evening.

Cassidy was arraigned this week and is due back in court December 18th.
